The "Laboratory Diagnostics" workshop gave participants the opportunity to discover how valuable and accessible the microscope can be in daily veterinary practice. Attendees learned to make more confident and rapid accurate diagnoses without referring patients elsewhere.
The programme included:
- Knowledge and skills in dermatology, haematology, cytology and oncology
- Practical training in blood smear analysis and preparation
- Types of anaemia in pets and blood groups in dogs and cats
- Haemotransfusion
- Fine-needle biopsy and interpretation
- Cerebrospinal fluid and joint punctates
- Leukocyte anomalies
- Cytology of the skin and ears
- Review of multiple real clinical cases

Haematology and cytology
Д-р Добромир Митев е практикуващ ветеринарен лекар с множество проведени курсове и семинари в областта на онкологията и кардиологията. След двугодишен стаж в Киркланд, САЩ се завръща в България и се развива като утвърден специалист. Обучаван е от американски дипломанти на Американския колеж на ветеринарните патолози (American College of Veterinary Pathologists) относно туморната патология, а през 2010 година д-р Сали Лестер, дипломантка на същия колеж, му преподава как да създаде и управлява кръвна банка за кучета и котки.
